₊˚ this is a space for us to connect, wind down, and enjoy each other's company! there are always freshly baked goods when you join us for our picnics, so make sure to redeem daily pastry!

₊˚ we play a variety of games, chit chat, and all around have a silly lil' time. some games in rotation include: valorant, totk/botw, citybuilder / farming games, indie storytelling, and more!

₊˚ picnic-goers from all walks of life are welcomed and celebrated here. we prioritise the safety of marginalised people, and all visitors will be held accountable for their actions in our space.

i am a firm believer in "a safe space for marginalised people is a safe space for all". i will not shy away about issues regarding identity and politics (institutions have made my existence political!), and making my stance on these topics clear. i will not let bigots exist in our space comfortably!

ꕀ finding the garden [lore]

₊˚ a mysterious letter arrives in your mailbox one morning, wrapped in a thin twine bow. you open up the letter, and written on the brown handmade paper is... an invitation?
"you are invited to a garden picnic! you'll find us when you need it."

puzzled by the vague instructions, you fold the letter and place it in your pocket.

₊˚ the day goes by, and nothing seems to be going right. you make all mistakes at work, your pen leaks in your bag, and youve been tugging that stray thread on your shirt without realising and unravelled one your favourite tops. your supervisor notices you struggling and urges you to take the rest of the afternoon off.
"you can try again tomorrow."

₊˚ you know your route home well, so for a while you scroll through your phone to numb your brain. turning a corner however you smell freshly baked bread.
"but there's no cafe around here..." you realise.

for the first time in a long time, you choose to look up instead of down. you're standing in front of a small park tucked away between the tall buildings, and the smell of the bakery is definitely coming from inside. curious, you push open the gate and step into the garden.

₊˚ "you made it!"
you turn around, surprised. for a second you swear you see bunny emerge from behind the tree, but now in front of you stands a small woman with a tall pink bow in her hair... maybe that's what you mistook as bunny ears?

she smiles excitably and grabs your hand, pulling you deeper into the garden. before you know it you're being welcomed by strangers and are seated on a soft picnic basket, offered cakes and sandwiches. while you don't know the people around you, they feel familiar to you. the conversation flows and you join in easily. laughter is in the air and the cakes are refreshing. you briefly make eye contact with the bunny-girl and you both smile.

you lean back on a tree behind you, closing your eyes in contentment. with your stomach full of pastries and the warm sun filtering through the leaves above you, you slowly fall asleep.

₊˚"did you rest well?"
you feel a warm hand on your shoulder and you open your eyes. the bunny girl is crouched beside you.

you nod as she helps you up, and she leads you back to the front gate. you take one more look back at the garden. you swear a soft glow lingers where the picnic once was.

"you are always welcome back, you know. we'll be here."
the bunny girl smiles, holding the garden gate open. you wave goodbye as you step back out onto the street.

knowing that the picnic will always be there for you, you feel ready to take on tomorrow.
